Description
**USED** **SIMILAR ITEM SEE PICTURE** The problem of stuttering is an ancient and complex one whose intricacies have been the collective subject of a wealth of theories and suppositions describing the possible conditions--both physical and psychological--that cause people to stutter. This volume provides a look at the types and classifications that contribute to the different approaches in the definition of stuttering, explores the onset and development of the problem and looks at many of the theories that have been offered as people continue to search for explanations and cures. Readable text and numerous examples and case studies facilitate comprehension, enhance learning, and encourage readers to appreciate not only the technical aspects of the problem but also the feelings, attitudes and reactions to those who suffer from it.
